I can't start TIE Fighter 🙁 I had made a PIF-file and set 4096k EMS but it still doesn't works. Maybe it is not a VDMS problem. But I don't know what to do. Without sound card settings (sound card="none") it starts&works properly..(Win2000rus).

No more help! Thanks. The problem has been solved by replacing config.nt with config.vdms in the PIF-file.

How do you do the PIF file and emulate EMS? I've tried to get TIE fighter to run without success

okay. okay okay okay. okay.
DO NOT USE PIF FILES! Get the VDMSound Launchpad.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Hey, I was able to enable EMS and get TIE Fighter to work!
The only problem now is that it's extremely slow. I suppose the sound emulation is so much more complex in TIE Fighter than in X-wing? I'm also wondering, now I'm running at max XMS and EMS options, would it work faster if I'd run it at minimum required XMS and EMS? Does it take up CPU to emulate a lot of XMS and EMS? I've got a 2.6GHz P4C
Thanks!

If it's using OPL3, then it will sound like that. Try configuring the music device to be MIDI or choose an early SoundBlaster Pro or basic SoundBlaster. SoundBlaster16 or the later SoundBlaster Pro models used OPL3.
