Hello,

I use the dosbox within winxp.

I can start the mouse within the box for normal dos-applications, and it works well.
I even can start win3.11 within the box, it works also.

But within win3.11 the mouse doesn't work, always. I can see and move the pointer, but the clicks have no effect at all.
If I start a dos-application, eg. word, within win3.11, there is also no function of the mouse, which I have, the same application started outside win3.11.
New installation of the mouse or installation ot another type of mouse through win-setup doesn't change anything.

If I boot win3.11, via disk, outside the dosbox, all these problems don't exist.

Is it impossible, to get the mouse work within win3.11 in the dosbox - or what to do?

Thank you, but this link does not help.
Its only an advice to install win3.11, short mentioning a not visible pointer.

But my win3.11 IS installed and works, with the exception of the mouse,
and my mouse-pointer IS visible, but works not.

So - has someone another trick?

maybe try to imagine your mouse pointer is not visible and do what the guide says

DOSBox doesn't pass your mouse through but simulates its own. So either install Win3.11 within DOSBox or start Win3.11' setup.exe and choose Microsoft/IBM PS2 mouse.

Initially I had installed the logitech driver for the mouse and the normal VGA from win. No TSENG-drivers at all.

Change of the mouse driver to Microsoft (and back, as described)
and change of the VGA to Super-VGA (and back, as described) has no effect regarding the functionality of the mouse.

Change logitech -> microsoft mouse:
I get the picture of another pointer, which is not movable, beside the more little one of the 'real mouse', which is movable, as described. But if I use the buttons, this mouse escapes and I have to bring it back by ctrl-F10, and so on ...
Change back, inside or outside win3.11: all as before.

Change VGA -> SVGA:
No effect, regarding the mouse: Still I can see the pointer, can move the pointer, but it doesn't work.
In the "mouse control center" of the adjustments, the field for the button-test is and stays void. Changes made within the mouse control center (shape of the cursor, button assignment) also have no effect.

Remember: all this ONLY within the dosbox - not, if booted directly from disk or CD.

May be, I have to change adjustments for the use of the RAM within my winxp?

You are right. That was it. Thank you!
I made a complete new installation within dosbox, and now it works, although I installed always the same drivers as before.

All these modifications, with setup inside or outside of win3.11, of the already installed version didn't help.

Strange thing.
