Regardless of what build of DOSBox I'm using, every time I load up a CD based game (I load them up in imgmount format), I end up hearing some delayed popping or crackling noises at any point in the game. Mostly happens every other second, but still noticeable and extremely annoying as hell.

I have tried messing with the block sizes, the prebuffer and sample rates, and none of it has helped getting rid of these weird crackling noises. Changing cores or cycles doesn't seem to help much either.

I have a first gen AMD Phenom 8450, Windows 7 x64, 8 gigs of ram, and Realtek HD Audio drivers. What do I do?

try to update all your drivers

try in dosbox's options
rate=44100
blocksize=1024
prebuffer=20
all other rates 44100 too

what is your dosbox version and where have you got it from?
what are your PC's gfx card?
what games have problems?
post content of "DOSBox Status Window" (in Windows: right click on its title bar -> edit)
enclose your dosbox's config file (with mountings included in [autoexec] section)
