Along with the super 7 boards I now own, I also got a couple more super 7's coming my way.
Yesterday I received my K6+ chips (a mixture of K6-2+'s and K6-3+'s) and tested them on my ASUS TX97-XE. They all booted but the motherboard sort of went crazy with them (one or two spontaneous reboots after a second or so).
Either I was pushing the board too hard with just 2.0V (even though it was set to just 2.5x and 50Mhz FSB) or it didn't know what to make of these mobiles.
I plan on flashing them with the unofficial BIOS's I downloaded from the K6+ site so obtaining the required BIOS files wasn't a problem. However, it's proving quite a b*tch to find the correct flashers to flash the files themselves, the links provided on that website are often dead and the mainboard manufacturers that do have the flashers are hard for me to understand.
Often I end up on some FTP site which seem to have some flashers dumped there with hardly any information about them
If the flashing process goes wrong, I 'could' try hotswapping but I'd rather not, since all the boards I intend to flash are almost all different.

Any tips?

I'll post a (non-complete) list of the boards I intend to flash, perhaps some of them have already been used by some of you?

ASUS P5A (both the good revisions 😀 )
ASUS TX97-XE rev 3.01
ASUS P5A-B (maybe)
ASUS P/I-P55T2P4 rev 3.10 (maybe, got 3 of these, I know their voltage regulator becomes HOT when using lower voltage chips)
Shuttle HOT 591P (maybe)
Gigabyte GA-5AX
Gigabyte GA-5SMM (the OEM variant, made for Compaq)
Soltek SL-56D5
IN5598 (A Sis 5598 board. Got 3 of them, 2 with 4 SIMM's, 1 with 2 DIMM's. Not 100% sure on who made them yet)

Arriving will be:
Another GA-5AX
MS-5167
Epox EP-MVP3G2
FIC PA-2013

I posted the exact motherboards also because maybe someone here happens to have any previous experience with them.

Anything is welcome, from personal experience to tips and links for the BIOS flasher programs 😉
