I've been playing this game in DOSBox (from the CDRom) for a long time without any problems. However, when I ran the game this morning, I found that I was only hearing some of the game sounds. I hear all of the synthesized noises, including the opening MIDI music, but I don't hear any character voices or recorded songs. I'm not doing anything differently, so I'm at a loss as to why half of the audio doesn't work.

what is your dosbox version and where have you got it from?
what is your Operating System?
what are your PC specifications?

do other games work properly?

post content of "DOSBox Status Window" (in Windows: right click on its title bar -> edit)
enclose your dosbox's config file

post your mount lines and what is written under every mount line
post what is written after you type "mount"

I'm using DOSBox 0.72, downloaded straight from dosbox.com.
Running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2.00 GHz
4 GB of RAM, 64-bit OS

Status window contents:
DOSBox version 0.72
Copyright 2002-2007 DOSBox Team, published under GNU GPL.
---
CONFIG:Loading primary settings from config file C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0
.72\dosbox.conf
MIDI:Opened device:win32

Mount lines:
mount d e:\ -t cdrom
mount c c:\users\daffodil\documents\carmensandiego\deluxe

Other games do seem to be working, but I think the sound in those games is all MIDI whereas I'm assuming the stuff that isn't playing on Carmen is WAV.

I know this post is from a while ago, but any resolution? I'm running into the same issue.
