- First is it possible to set up more than 2 serial ports in dos box
I would like to forward 5 dos box serial ports to 5 real serial ports on the host pc.

- Second if possible how would i go about doing it where can i find info regarding serial port configuration. I have not been able to get more than 2 to run at any one time. am i missing something simple. I have not found any other info regarding setting up more than 2 serial ports. Any suggestions on where to find info or examples would be greatly appreciated.

I am running win xp and ubuntu 10.04lts on the host machine

No more than 4. You may have to specify different interrupt lines for ports 3 and 4 depending on the DOS application.

Didn't real DOS have a 4 COM port and 3 LPT port limit too unless you use both special hardware and special, made-for-that-specific-hardware software? Because that's how much space there is in some fixed-address tables in low memory, if I remember correctly?

BIOS limitation at least.
