I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and DosBox 0.74. I have to work with Borland Pascal and Turbo Assembler (old versions) but DosBox simply drives me nuts! When I copy those executables in some specific paths and try to run them, they work. After a period of time I can't start neither and get the error above. What causes it?

Why are you trying to run Windows 95 programs in DOSBox? That's what Wine is for.

There's a mistake in there somewhere, because DOS apps don't turn into Windows apps overnight.

They won't run in wine. But as I said, sometimes I manage to start them through DosBox.
For example, I deleted the executables and copied some new ones in the exact same path. Now they run!

Keep a closer track of what else you do with these files, when this happens and make sure you keep track of which files work and which files don't.
Dosbox doesn't change stuff and if an exe once works it should keep on working unless you do something with the file. Maybe a virus changes them?
