Sorry if this is a problem with the game or my configuration, and not Dosbox.

In Wing Commander 2, when I am pitching and rolling at the same time (pressing "down and left" or "up and right" together on the keyboard), then make taps on one of the buttons to adjust my path (for example, releasing "left" so I can go more "up," then tapping "left" again to adjust for the direction the enemy ship is moving), my ship's path resets to zero and I fly straight for a second or two.

This has gotten quite annoying, since most of the enemy ships enjoy doing their little loop-dee-loops and cartwheels with the afterburners on, and I need to make course correction on the fly to keep them in my gun sights.

This wasn't an issue in the first Wing Commander, and I could adjust my aim bit by bit to keep the enemy in front of me at all times, but it's an issue now.

Is this how WC2 was designed to fly, or do I have something I should fiddle with in the Dosbox configuration file? I should note I'm using a PS/2 keyboard, with the anti-ghosting deal on so I can't press more than three keys together (though, of course, this is only two keys), and I've tried setting the Dosbox config file to say I have no Joystick, and I've pulled out my USB mouse, too. No dice.

Thanks!

The recommended control device for Wing Commander is the Joystick. A mouse is ok but not nearly as good and keyboard is likely the worst option because of how they programed the key polling.

A basic Logitech Joystick doesn't cost much and your Wing Commander experience will increase into infinity 😀

I'll try to get my USB gamepad up and running for Privateer and Wing Commander 3, if the keyboard is just as bad in those. 😀
