The forum had the wrong location for the "redist" folder. Instead of creating one, the "redist" folder has to be copied from CD #1 of the game.

Try this instead.

In order for the game to work, download and extract the patch to your desktop.
Explore CD #1 of the game, and you will see a file named "redist".
Copy the redist folder from the CD to the game patch folder on your desktop.
Click on setup, and the game will install, and work
