use 0.74 and post your mount lines

oh Wait well now it works on my latest retry, I guess I forgot to mount the C drive the first time that i got the "INSTALL" to work?

Anyway thanks for the quick response but heres my process just in case:

Z:\>mount c "C:\dosbox\dos games"

Z:\>c:

C:\>imgmount e "C:\dosbox\dos games\are you afraid of the dark\afraid.iso" -t iso

C:\e:

E:\install

<installed to C:>

now to see if the actual game works...

Well bad news I got the files to install but now I cannot get the .bat to work. Here are my lines:

Z:\>mount c "C:\dosbox\dos games"

Z:\>mount e e:\ -t cdrom

Z:\>C:

C:\>cd VNM

C:\VNM\>cd afraid

C:\VNM\AFRAID\>afraid
Illegal Command: E:\AFRAID

Not sure what else to do here. I'm wondering if it is because the original game ran off a disk and I'm mixing up commands between running a cd rom and an .iso file, which I only have the iso for now.

you need to mount the image as you did when you installed the game.
imgmount e "C:\dosbox\dos games\are you afraid of the dark\afraid.iso" -t iso

Thanks, seems to be working now. Can't believe I didn't try that before. Now hopefully since I'm a little more experienced I'll see if I can get any other great games to work. Thanks!!

Btw. prefer to mount the cd rom to d, some games might expect the cd rom to be there. O fcourse don't do this for this game now, since it expects now e:/ 😉
