I came across this:

It seems to add fm synthesis to a sound card, but I'm not sure I see the point for games as it's on the midi port. For example I can't see it could function for music when you select "sb music" in a dos game, it would be only if the game uses midi.

In the form of a Midi Daughterboard it can only work for midi music. There is no way to send FM/AdLib style music commands to the OPL4 through the waveblaster header. The FM circuitry may still be put to use to generate tones for the midi music.

This is already the high integrated version that features just 1 MB ROM.

I wonder if there is GM emulation in a DOS window in the Win9x driver for the Miro PCM1 Pro.
This is not a daughterboard, though the only OPL4 Wavetable card I currently know that got a Win9x driver.
