Hello there!

I'm Champfan2k3 and I have a problem with the sound in champ centiped-em, the full version and here's the scoop. When I tried to play the game and open the program, popping sounds are made when I open the program and then there was no sound at all except for the sound it makes when I get a free guy on that game. I've tried everything I can to fix it but nothing's working. What's really bugging is that when I do get the game to work without the VDMS Launchpad, the game works fine. Plus when I do play the shareware version of centiped-em with the launchpad, everything works great! So this is a major problem that needs help and assistance from you all. Please help!!

Thanks!

Don't know what to tell you as it runs fine here. Of course, it might be related to your VDMSound version, whether or not you have applied any updates (for v2.04), and what OS you are running...etc... None of which were specified in your post...

Here's all I have. I have a windows xp home edition
and I do I have all of the updates for VDMSound version 2.04 with the launchpad version 1.0.1.1. installed in my computer that is a Hubert and Packard with 2.2ghz of memory and an Intel celeron processor.
The VDMSound alone does have the games work but the keyboard control is very loose. I can barely control the movements of the game. But when I do install the launchpad everything works great except for Champ Centiped-em which the sound cuts off when I opened up the program everytime.

I hope this specifc description helps.

I'm guessing you meant a 2.2GHz Celeron processor. As for memory, so long as you have 256MB, you should be fine.

Don't know what to tell you here. The only time I had keyboard problems was when the games themselves "Hate NT" which means there's no fix except for except for using full PC emulation.

Not really unfortunately. Without actual access and being unable to reproduce the problem...there's not a whole lot I can suggest.

Only other thought would be to try a CVS release of DosBox. The official release won't run it as the game uses "protected mode". Note that running the game in DosBox will use substantially more CPU than running it natively, but a 2.2GHz CPU can handle everything easily.

I've tried the dosbox just like you suggested and didn't like it at all. Oh well. But, Hey guess what? I've finally managed to get Champ centiped-em freeware to work now through VDMSound and heres how I did it. In the VDMS launchpad options of the game, I clicked on the dos environment in the advance options and unchecked everything on the list. And now my game works!!! YES!! Now I can play the game without a problem. Looks like I'll stick to VDMSound from now on and like it. Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I'll see you later.

???
What, did it hit you or something? *heh* Seriously, you just adjust the cycles as needed for full-screen and you should be good to go. If you can't bother with typing out the command you can just create a batch file to start it for you.

Well that's good...considering it makes no sense.
