I have a BBS program that requires share.exe. It doesn't appear that dosbox supports such an animal. I do realize that there are some multiplayer games that need it as well. Any ideas if this is going to be added?
So far no one brought a game up that needs share...
If you need it you have to use a hard disk image in Dosbox. There is a fake share added to the Windows 3.x guide BUT this really only makes progeams think share is enabled, so if a program needs the functionality of share it will have bad results.
So, what exactly does SHARE.EXE do, and why is it so hard to emulate? 🤣
Google will tell you, maybe even vogons search...
I don't think emulating it would be too hard, it's just not needed for games.
