hi @ll,

i'm trying to play archimedean dynasty ("schleichfahrt" in german) but the joystick calibration seems to be buggy. my sub is always steering to the lower left. when i pull the joystick to the upper right, my sub stays at its position - that seems to be the "normal" position of the joystick.

my configuration:
dosbox: 0.74
game mode: 2d
joystick: saitek st200 (usb)
os: win7 x64
ram: 4 gb

any ideas on that ? that would be really great.

i found the problem myself. i had to do 3 things to get my joystick to work with AD:

- edit dosbox.conf and change the parameter timed=false
- after editing dosbox.conf, delete joystick.conf in AD-folder
- my additional problem was, that a shortcut to dosbox which loads AD automatically, had the parameter -userconf without any special config afterwards. so dosbox seemed to load some defaults but not the dosbox.conf 😀

i hope this can help people in the future who have the same problem.

cheers

I just registered to say thank you; i never would have figured that out and it fixed the same drifting down+left problem for me. So yeah, thanks!

Yes, in DosBox every game I've played works better if joystick timed=false.
Additionally if you have a joystick with thottle and twist you want swap34=true.
And if you want to configure extra joystick buttons more easily you can use Joy2Key (Google it).
