hi, I'm having a strange problem with my Wing Commander II Deluxe (CD) Edition. Soon after the mission starts, the keyboard for all "functions" like autopilot, targetting or navigation is not responding anymore.

what is very strange that the keyboard still works:
- I can fly using the arrow keys
- I can exit the game using ALT+X

so, what strange issue could that be?

the problem is being caused by my KVM and the PS2-DIN adapter. today I had the chance to plug an old DIN keyboard into the 386 and it worked perfectly.

how can I get it to work with my KVM?

this problem only applies to Wing Commander II of all other games I have tested so far

Perhaps it has lost track of your shift keys. Try pressing and releasing each in turn: left Shift, Alt, Ctrl, right Shift, Alt, Ctrl, CapsLock.

Try holding down Shift or Ctrl while pressing one of the unusable keys.

Some KVM are better than others. Some KVM + keyboard combinations work better than others. The problem may not be solvable without replacing the KVM with a different model.

they are real DOS installations. I have the same issue on my 486, which also only has a DIN keyboard interface and uses a PS2-DIN adapter
