Tried using OpenGLide for Falcon 4.0, but it doesn't seem to work. Using the original Falcon4.exe file, the only graphics choices are "softward" and Direct3d." Using the Falcon4_108i2 executable from the RPG5a freeware mod, the game doesn't load at all.

This is in WindowsXP with an NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 graphics card, 52.16 drivers.

Too bad, I was really open to be able to run it in Glide again. Ever since my Voodoo2 card died, I've been stuck with Direct3d/ For some reason, in Direct 3d, the text labels are distorted and difficult to read.

Edited to add: For openGLide, I just replaced the glide2x.dll that was already in the Falcon4 directory, and added the openGlid.ini file to that directory. This is version 009RC5 of OpenGLide.

Sounds like you did the right things.

You could try using compatibility modes to make the exe think its running under Windows 98 or 95.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't make any difference. (Tried both Win95 and Win98/ME compatibility modes.)
