With a old dos program i am working with using dosboxmegabuild 6 i sometimes get an error. System crash. exit code 201 range check error. This error is generated from the program. In the debug i get a warning.
file creation failed: filename...

Has someone else this problem and can it be fixed.
I tried to different memsize and Machines but have returned to the default settings.

Operating System Windows 7 32bit
4gb of ram
I7 processor

Use the official 0.74 release and if it "crashes" there too post a useful bug report.

The program that i am using is protected with a parallel dongle. Therefore i can only use the MB6 edition .

Bad luck then. But since dongle-protected applications are quite expensive special programs anyways
I'm certain you'll get help from the company that is selling the application.

It is legacy software with no support what ever. I must resort to dosbox because the turbo pascal runtime error 200. This error shows when machines are to fast. With dosbox this problem does not appear. But another error appear for which i have no solution yet.

I can understand you take this posistion. Thx for the effort . I hope in a next release of dosbox you can perheps help me with my problem.

DOSBox is intended to run games, not support companies that are too lazy to buy new software/hardware. But yeah, I can understand your position too 😀

Of course, but it's still great to see how far DOSBox has come. Noone would have so much as thought about running business software (however old) on DOSBox v0.1...

Thanks for the tip. Tppatch didn't work for my software . But i did find one that works fine.

The one I recommend is PatchCRT by Kennedy Software.
