I'm looking for the best option for a 486 EISA+VLB machine.
Can anyone comment how good these EIDE caching controllers are? How do they compete with ISA/EISA SCSI controllers? And how do they compare to using a simple IDE controller with SMARTDRIVE?
At this time my options are:
VLB Tekram DC-680C (untested yet)
EISA Bustek BT-742A (probably works)
ISA Adaptec AHA-1542 (untested)
but maybe there's something better that can be cheaply found on ebay?
