I have a problem with WC3 (GoG edition) played with joystick (CH Fighter Stick). The joystick calibrates correctly and works rather well, but the axes near the center are not very responsive, and on the Y axis, when I pull slightly the stick down (just 1 cm or so, and not always), it tends to pull the ships' nose down, instead of up. If I pull it down more decidedly it doesn't happen, but it makes rather difficult to aim precisely at ships when they're coming towards me. I tried to widen the dead zones in the center, but the problem appears again just as the dead zone ends, in that case I just have to pull more the stick to make it happen.

Also, it seems to happen when there are more ships (it doesn't happen in the simulator).

I don't think it's a problem of the stick, because in the calibration screen such inverted values don't appear, neither I have problems with other games (also in DosBox). I tried all kinds of settings, tried the WC3 joystick patches, but to no avail. Does anybody know which could be the cause?

It's just a problem with the game, I think. Happens to me too. Something similar happens in TIE Fighter in X-Wing if you look in a certain direction, but for Wing Commander it appears to be anywhere on the horizon.

If you haven't done it yet, try setting timed=false in the Dosbox config.
I don't know why it is default on true in the first place, cause I tried a lot of games en several joysticks, but with timed=true it doesn't work very well on any game I tried.
