Hey there, I'm new to this board, but not exactly new to old hardware. I figured this place, being a hive of fellow vintage hardware nerds, would be a good place to ask a question like this:
I have a Voodoo3 2000 PCI running on my Enhanced Am486DX-120(Arstoria AS496 Skt3 SiS PCI board). The PC posts fine, everything working OK, currently running Win95c OK.
However, after installing the Voodoo3 Driver v1.07.00, Windows 95 fails to load saying "Windows Protection Fault. You need to restart your computer". Going into safe mode works and I can remove the driver, allowing Win95 to load.
Now, I read on an old thread here that newer Voodoo3 drivers might have had Pentium optimizations that could cause the failure I'm getting, and using an older Voodoo3 drivers not exclusive to P5-chips will work.
So the question is, does anyone off the top of their head know what the newest version of the Voodoo3 9x driver is that will work on a clunky 486?
Any input is welcome, thanks in advance.
