i plan to collect a few midi soundcards, its a long term task though:

roland scc-1a (rare and very expensive)
roland rap-10 (received)
yamaha sw60xg (quite rare but easier than scc-1a)
yamaha sw20pc (rather plentiful at the dump site near my city)

and i want to know: how do these cards run in dos and windows98?

we also know that scc-1a and sw60xg are midi only and have no wave playback, while rap-10 and sw20pc do.

The SCC-1 and RAP-10 don't need a driver - they both feature standard MPU401 interfaces. DOS games will work without any special setup and Windows can use the standard MPU401 driver.

SCC-1 and RAP-10 only having testing software, no drivers indeed needed.

~ At least it can do black and white~

I believe the RAP-10 does have drivers for Windows 3.x and maybe 95 to use its ADC/DAC functionality. The Yamaha SW60XG does not need drivers either.

I have a SW-20PC and I have "hacked" it's drivers to include the latest updates from yamaha... if you are interested I can upload the package

thanks man, i would like to get the drivers, although i havn't got the card yet.

and i have a few more questions:
1.what os are the drivers for? does it work with windows95/98?
2.what changes did you make to the drivers?
3.can the card work with generic opti 82c928 and analog ad1848 drivers?(in win95/98 of course)
