Hi everyone.

Like the topic states... I've gotten some boards lately and am having trouble identifying or locating drivers. Can anyone help? Maybe a simple photo will help. Some boards have a regular chip (like the crystal sound card) but they also have other chips that I'm not sure, but might require other drivers. For example what's up with that s3 board? Why 3 chips? Or the full length Crystal sound card with modem. What are 3 cirrus logic chips doing there?

Any help would be appreciated.

3rd card is an ATI STEREO F/X soundcard (says that on the pcb too) it is SB compatible and the 2 sockets are for 2 1099P chips to offer gameblaster compatibility. it's a nice 8bit card... has eprom to store it's settings.
here is the webarchive link for the card http://web.archive.org/web/200101250056/http: … dcards/sfx.html
, I don't have the updated reset.exe but here is the driver attached...

The bottom right card, "adaptec" looks like an MFM controller for an XT to me.

The Diamond Sound card might be a Diamond Sonic Sound or Sonic Sound LX or Sonic Sound 3D. Try this

The rest look like normal sound cards, some of them with the old proprietary IDE like interfaces for the first CDROM drives... the modemsound card is most likely out of an old packard bell, they loved those back then.

1 AD soundcard unknown to me, I only recognize the soundport chip, not the ECHO.
2 Prometheus soundcard unknown to me, are these chips rebranded?
3 Keropi knows this one
4 Soundcard very similar to Terratec Maestro 16 / Maestro 32. C-media chipset.
5 OPTi 82C928 MAD16 Soundcard
6 Diamond soundcard, possibly rebranded Avance Logic ALS007
7 OPTi 82C929 MAD16PRO Soundcard, With modem
the rest don't seem like soundcards, and are beyond my interests.

2. Prometheus ARIA16. Very interesting little card based on Sierra Semiconductor ARIA chipset. Has 16 bit PCM playback and 512 Kb ROM compatible with General MIDI and MT-32 (but incompatible with MPU - native ARIA support is needed for MIDI playback). Can emulate Sound Blaster presence. Needs initialization by special utility in CONFIG.SYS. Natively supported by a multitude of early 90's games. Also supported by PX player.
