Hiya!
once again I am missing some files 😖
I remember vaguely that I had a utility that could send a reset SYX to the LAPC-1 ... but I can't find it 😖
I have found the "MT-32 Reset" file here (I assume it works with DUMP on the same page) but I have no idea if this is suitable in case one has more than one synths installed... where the .syx is send to?
IIRC I had a single .exe to do this ...

Any help/tips will be appreciated as always, thanks! 😊

on this topic, what is a good DOS midi player that will successfully play both of Roland's MTGM.MID and CMR-SFX.MID ?
When I play CMR-SFX.MID with playmid I think it does something very wrong as percussion is lost on my lapc-i....

Also I see that DUMP works for reseting the card so I guess I am OK in this aspect...

Perhaps playmid is not passing the sysex, which it would not require for a GUS.

Make batch files when you find a good midi player.

I have tried megamid and midplay, both pimped dos midi players ... I get the same results as the small playmid (from FM software, found here: http://www.queststudios.com/roland/utilities.html ) so maybe it does sound like that...

Try GS Play from that site.

just tried it, nice prog but the results are the same... I think that LAPC-I GM emulation can't get better 🤣
