For the past 3 days, I've been trying to get my old copy of Lost Eden to work using DOSbox, but I keep getting this same error. Apparently, I'm not the only one. I found a comment from another site from someone with the same exact issue. Here is what they said.

"With DOSbox I can get it to run if I use edenprg.exe, but I can’t seem to get any sound. When I use this D-Fend same error during install. First it says I haven’t got enough discspace on drive A despite setting it to drive C and when I continue I get this:

Error when creating file

C:\Dune$$$$.$$$

file or path was not found

Then I'm led back to the automatic installation. "

TL;DR
I keep getting an error that says it cannot create a file called C:\Dune$$$$.$$$

Please PLEASE help me out with this. I've been wanting to play this game again for years.

please read and follow the 60 seconds guide (from my signature) and then write what fails in which way. Really follow it...

If it works only if you're running edenprg.exe directly, then perhaps you probably didn't install it properly. You can't run the install from C: (so if you downloaded it from somewhere, it won't run the second time).
As Dominus wrote, follow the 60 seconds guide, and if it still doesn't work, then tell us the commands that you used to mount the drives, how you installed it, and the commands that you used to run it for the second time.

You have no idea how much that guide helped me! Thanks! 😁
The 60 second guide worked PERFECTLY. The game is up and running. There is one problem, it starts off normally, but after a few seconds of the intro, the game starts getting all choppy and the game slows down significantly.
Is there another guide to fix this?
