I know this just means that it "crashed", but there is a message that comes up that says something like this, "when daggerfall quits unexpectedly, it can corrupt any data currently running in memory. It is recommended that you reboot to avoid this"

It doesn't really mess with your "real" data in memory, does it? I just killed dosbox with the task manager after i saw that message.

The normal way to close dosbox is also sufficient.
