😒
I finally found a download for Duckman: legend of the fall. I tried running it in DOSBox, but when I did, the oddest thing happened. I tried to run setup.exe, but when I hit enter, this happens.

C:\>setup
so I type this in and hit enter

C:\>win SETUP.EXE
illegal command line win

The word 'win' just appears out of nowhere without me even typing it.
I'm not sure what it means or how to get around it. I've heard of people using DOSBox to run this game, there is evidence of it on youtube, even. But I can't seem to get it running.
Can anyone tell me what it is I'm doing wrong?

I actually tried that, but whenever I do, I get a message saying that I can't run this program because it is "incompatible with 64 bit versions of Windows".

Is there something else I can do to run this game?

"win" means windows which means the executable you are trying to run in DOSBox in your first post is a Windows program.

DOSBox only runs DOS programs.

From your last post it sounds like it's a 16bit installer which 64bit Windows does not support.

You'll need to run the installer on a 32bit version of Windows.

Okay, now I understand.
😢
Is there any way I make this 64 bit version of windows run 32 bit, or is that completely impossible?

If not, is there some kind of virtual machine out there that can run 32 bit games on a 64 bit computer?

If you have Windows 7 you can download Windows Virtual PC from Microsofts website. It contains Windows XP Mode. It works pretty much straight out of the box and works very well imo. Can't do Direct3D emulation as far as I know, but it works for 2D and installing stuff.

and that's as much help as we can give you. You'd be better off buying the game or asking the site from where you *downloaded* it.

They probably installed Windows 3.1 in DOSBox. That would also probably do the job in this case.
