I have the original rayman disc and rayman gold(but they have lots of scratches) and I bought the GOg.com version, but the music is wrong in that version, even with the''fix'' . so first I tried a windows xp patch.http://rayman.bonusweb.cz/patches/ I installed it with the disc in my pc. closes when I start it up. so then I tried running the actual disc files in dosbbox. when I dragged the install.bat file into dosbox it said illigal command. then I placed the folder in my c drive and dragged the install.bat file in dosbox again. this time I got a setup screen(for sound and install). when I select install I can pick A,B or Z. but when I select them it says I don't have enough space on that hard drive and I can't install it.
I tried actually running dosbox, mounting c c:\rayman with the -freesize 1024 or 999 command, but that doesnt work and it seems like the command itself doesnt even work. Please help me, I really want to play the PC version of rayman 1 without the music fucking up.

Please help me I don't really know anything about dosbox. I'm 15 and I once illigaly downloaded doom and I could just drag it into dosbox(or the installer) and it worked. but with raymans original disc (Or a downloaded 1) it seems like it's not that simple....

Why not ask in the GOG forums, then?

so first I tried a windows xp patch.

Unless it is explicitly described as working with the GOG version, I would not expect patches for the original version to work with the GOG version.

when I dragged the install.bat file into dosbox it said illigal command. then I placed the folder in my c drive and dragged the install.bat file in dosbox again. this time I got a setup screen(for sound and install). when I select install I can pick A,B or Z. but when I select them it says I don't have enough space on that hard drive and I can't install it.

Installations don't work that way in DOSBox. Please see the 60 Seconds Guide.

No,it's the original rayman disc in my pc.
what that XP patch does,is check if you have the rayman disc(I do,but it has lots of scratches) and then installs an entirely new rayman. Maybe it doesn't work because mine is dutch or too scratched?.
So i tried using dosbox on the original gams files, the ones on the disc NOT the gog.com version
But with the games I illigaly(sorry,I really wanted to play doom and duke nukem and some other old FPS, and I wanted to buy half life `games and quake games on steam) I could just drag the setup files onto dosbox, Pick the sound card and controlls and it instaled the games very easily,so why not with rayman? also, when I drag rayman.exe in it says I need MCDEX 2.1 or something, and when I try to use install.bat on the disc without dragging it on my pc it says illigal command.
Anyways I'll look at the guide when I have more time.

I got it to work with the guide, but the music doesn't work. I picked autodetect for the sound in the installer(It picked soundblaster 16) but there's no music(sound works) 😒

Rayman uses redbook CD audio, so you will either have to use the correct switches when mounting the CD, or you will have to make a BIN/CUE image of the disc and mount it using IMGMOUNT.

Or you can just look at the GOG forums like I already said. If that is the "fix" you were referring to, then in what sense is the music still "wrong" ?
