I created a bin/cue of my Kickoff 97 cd. It mounted and installed just fine in 0.74 with a default conf file.

Upon launching the game however, I receive the error:

KickOff 97 - V1.06 (dos)
Error: Wrong CD in drive
Please insert your KickOff 97 CD

My mount command is:
imgmount d .\games\KckOff97\cd\kick_off_97.cue -t cdrom

And as I said, it installs just fine.

I have run into a few other games which refuse to read my images properly (GT Racing 97 and College Slam to name two). In one case the cue file had to be manually offset and in the other ripsaw8080 had to write a TSR to allow the game to read the disc properly. I suspect this instance falls into a similar category.

Probably the same issue as Kick Off 98. Does 97 have a proper DOS installer?

Yes, 97 has a proper dos installed.

98 required the game to be installed via windows 95 or above, however it copies over all necessary dos files during that install.

Speaking of which, I swear I just made a post for this issue for KO98... but now it's gone..?

About the sound issue, is there a setup or is auto-detect only? I suggest trying different sbtype= and irq=5. Maybe also experiment with memsize= and loadfix.

switching to sb1 as the type fixed it. It didn't like any other setting, and doesn't seem to support any other types of sound cards (Gravis, Roland, etc).
