My Pc opens everything in notepad help

I was trying to install sim farm 32 bit and play it on my 64 bit laptop (Accer aspire). I was following the intructions here http://www.glennsguides.com/2008/03/sim-farm- … ad-install.html
I made it to the step that says Now: Locate and right click on the Dosbox config file. Click "open with" & select notepad
After that My laptop opens everything in notepad. Please help

Look inside regedit HKEY_CLASS_ROOT, the problem must be there. If my theory is correct, you have "notepad" in "*" folder default value. Change it to nothing. Should work.
