Hey guys, after looking through the DOSBoxWiki, I'm still having trouble running SimTown. Specifically, the error message I receive is, "This program must be run under Win32." I'm having no trouble running some other games right now, any idea what it could be?

That error message means that you must run the game in Windows. DosBox does not emulate Windows, it emulates MS-DOS.

Now if you wish you can install Windows 3.x in DosBox and try to run your game then but it's best to run the game in Windows 2000/XP if you can.

There are two versions of SimTown -- one for Win3.1 with Win32s, the other is for Win9x. Be careful with newer version on Win2k/WinXP, it may mess up some icons. Older version requires WinG. Not sure if it can be used on XP. Most likely, yes, but it will require some figuring out.

I'm am stuck in the exact same place. After getting the Win32 message from DOSBOX, I've been trying the MAME emulator to no avail. Somebody linked me up to Windows 95 install, but I know once I run it, I'll never be able to figure out how to return to Windows 7.

Any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks
Renee

First...MAME emulates arcade games, not Dos, Windows or something similar.
Second: there's a thread here (I'm sure you can use the search function) that explains how to install Windows 3.1 in DosBox.
Third: if you want to run Windows 95, I recommend you use another kind of solution such as Bochs or VirtualBox (VirtualBox might work for you).
