I stumbled upon some new old stock sealed boxes with this monster card inside.

Was hoping I could get some hdds to boot from this, but so far no luck...
(and seems it requires some special i20 compatibility which my slot1 mobo does not have...)

But the card looks very impressive, blinking lights and all, L.O.L 😁

- Just not sure what to do with it ?
(have no need for any RAID, so...)

May work in a s478 mobo, which at least recognizes the type of card, i.e. has I20 functionality in BIOS (though still no booting possible).

If you don't need RAID, then there's no reason to use a RAID card. A lot of those cards don't even support independent drives... in order to use one, you have to set up a multiple drive array of some sort.

But as for getting it bootable... it'll require configuration in the firmware (Ctrl+A at boot time to enter the config utility) to set up and build an array, and there's also sometimes a setting you have to change in the main system BIOS to enable an add-on card as a boot device. And I imagine you're probably already aware, but I'll mention it anyway... it won't work with regular dual-device IDE cables.
