Just won this mobo. What can you tell about OPTI-495SX chipset?
Pretty decent as a 386 chipset. It would be somewhat low end for a 486. My main gripe is that it doesn't support DRAM page/interleave mode.

Is Opti 495sx chipset a lot worse than VIA vt82495?
I've never used a VIA chipset on a 386, so no clue. I would guess they should be about the same.
