The trouble is - when soldier gain experience, "total skill points" counter is increasing - but without the available skill point increase and without the message "skill level increase". Then, after the several more kills - message + red dot appears.
It's not the critical bug. But this is annoying like hell, especially at the hardest difficulty. And especially after the 9 yellow bars, when you stop gaining the experience from Ray'Ther.
Any help, suggestions?

P4 3.00E, Radeon HD2600 Pro Agp, WinXpSp3, nGlide.
EU Incubation, patched to 1.03e.
Tnx.

This game is available on GOG.com . Perhaps someone on their forums has encountered the same problem?

Well, I tested the GoG release. Same error. Affected soldiers are Bratt and Bakee.
P.S. no 3dfx, no manual (handbook only), sound glitches (no voice at the cutscenes, because music is MP3). Nay, I strongly prefer the original cd/dvd releases.

Maybe this means it is a bug in the original game that the devs never bothered to fix?

Wouldn't be the first time ^^

And whats with slating GOG.COM? I wait with baited breath to see what they are gonna release next! 😁 I mean there are easier (and cheaper) ways to play the old classics but it's nice having some of them available to download.

I liked Incubation but my god, after a number of missions I just always got my ass handed to me on this certain level. Even with 3 or 4 attempts through the game I just couldn't take that difficulty jump.

...see their recent release of Carmageddon - pretty much broken if you want acceptable performance in high resolution, since they saw fit to include nGlide, but exclude its configuration utility, without which you cannot adjust the resolution at all; nothing that a fresh nGlide install doesn't fix, but still... *head meets wall*

For me - the Incubation is easier after some missions, because you can train all your soldiers on infinite Ray'Ther. Baginets + 2 soldiers over the vent=1-4 Ray'Thers are dead w/o ammo reducing. Mission 10 is the perfect place for this tactic. The result is - 108-109 Exp and 9/12 total APs for each soldier. And RFMGs in "The Hole" for killing this damn 1st Al'Coo...

Oh ... wow 🙁

Maybe I just SUCK?!?! 😁 😁

I just remember loving the game (turn based AP combat very true to XCOM/Laser Squad) but it used my VooDoo card? Mega hopes for it. Just couldn't beat it!

Think I fell back on Forsaken in disgust, and probably owned my LAN party mates twice as hard that week just to make myself feel better. After that they used to stop inviting me ^^

Noobz.......
