RR Tycoon - unable to lay diagonal track

Railroad Tycoon with DOSBox 0.65 (downloaded as package from ShackNews --- http://www.shacknews.com/file/9680/railroad-tycoon-free-game#) does not allow for diagonal track - or any track laying with the numeric keypad (shift + keypad number). That is, the numeric keypad does not function for track laying.

I have tried the CTRL+F1, save, exit approach that one poster mentioned but it had no effect.

(I should add that I tried installing DOSBox-0.74 but the RDXF file that came with my downlaod looks for 0.65 and will not run with 0.74. I don't know how to change the Windows Batch File so it would use the 0.74 version.)

I have Windows 7.

Thank you - I think I have stumbled onto the solutions for both issues.

re DOSBox versions and batch file --- I right-clicked on the batch file, selected edit and changed from DOSBox 0.65 to 0.74

re diagonal track laying --- the Home, End, Pg Up, and Pg Dn keys do this

I have to say that I unsuccessfully first tried the keymapper to no effect - in particular, I saw no way to select, e.g., NE track laying, as an "Event"
