Use SnagIt, which has an option to capture fullscreen DOS windows. (Uncertain if it actually works in W2K/XP, though. 😒)
Yes, it’s my fault.
or Connectix Virtual PC http://www.connectix.com
SnagIt its useless 🙁
when i try to make a DOS-Screenshot with SnagIt its only get a blank picture.
but many thanks for the virtual-pc tip actually i install Win98 with this program.
Thanks for the Help
You could always try setting SnagIt to take a "window" screenshot, then Alt+Enter to make the game into a dos box (frozen), then hit "Record" and click on the window. That should do the trick.
I *know* you can get screenshots out of DosBox using that method.
Yes, it’s my fault.
Better late than never.. sorry I had overlooked this interesting thread.
GiminiC if you're still there,
as far as my experience goes I've been using the following programs to take screenshots from dos games :
a shareware called Pcxdump v. 9.31, which I found very handy on machines using such video adaptors as S3 ViRGE and Blaster Banshee. Lately it crashed on a Nvidia GeForce card, though
another Grabber (grpcx.exe) shareware utility, that's the only app that never failed, from Win95 through WinXP, 2D cards through 3dfx and then Nvidia cards : 100 % success
also there's Screen Thief v. 2.01, great under dos and Win9x, but has serious problems with all dosg4w-requiring games (like Sam and Max to name one) as far as I got this is to blame on incompatibility between dpmi dos extenders and vcpi method it (ScreenThief) depends upon.
Besides, whatever I fiddle with its settings or autoexec.nt it won't run under WinXP as far as I can tell.
It's true you can always take advantage of the Print Screen key when running ScummVM, but of course you can't have multiple captures that way...
I haven't tried dosbox screen capture capability this far.
Have you ?
I've had good luck with TechSmith SnagIt.
Yes, it’s my fault.
SnagIt, sure.
It does make it right.
Although I can understand why GiminiC had called it useless, because with no less than 3 old games I saw it fail too.
Every time it was a game which wouldn't keep running when I tried to Alt+Enter it into a window or a dos box.
Anyway my post was focused mostly on a VOPONS perception (where P = programs).
Isn't it beautiful when an early 90's app like Grabber/grpcx.exe is still making the trick ? 😉
