I can connect the controller and use it with no issues with non-dosbox games, however the problem with dosbox is that it maps the axes and buttons incorrectly. For me, I would prefer if the traditional X/Y axis of a typical joystick used in dos would be mapped to the directional pad or the left thumbstick, and buttons 1-4 mapped to ABXY, instead of whatever the heck it thinks it's doing.
I just looked on the app store and there's a program called "gamepad companion" that's 8 bucks, that allows for mapping keyboard buttons to things on a joystick, which is not at all an ideal solution. I'd like to be able to use the joystick as an actual joystick with analog control, for games like X-Wing and the like, and all things considered 8 bucks is kind of a rip off considering all this software is available on PC for free, as well as modifications to the dosbox client itself to hack a 360 controller into working as one would envision. What I'm hoping for is equivalent hacks for the Mac version of dosbox or something like that.
