(I come from Taiwan, my English is poor, sorry for that 😊 )

I have a software which run under MS-DOS.
When it runs, it will detect if the hardware lock on LPT be set in correct status. (the hardware lock have 4 buttons on it, I need to open the correct button )
But when I run this software in DOS-BOX, it always shows me that " There are no correct hardware lock on parallel port ".

I don't know how to check:
1. DOS-BOX didn't detect LPT or DOS-BOX didn't found LPT ?
or
2. DOS-BOX didn't receive the feedback from the hardware lock ?

How do I check which reason above made the software can't run ???

Thanks a lot ! 😊

Dosbox is for games, no game needs a dongle.

Maybe try the so called megabuild of dosbox, but I think dongles are just not working

Did you configure the Megabuild to properly use the parallel port? You will also probably need PortTalk .

But as Mr. Dominus says, there is a very good chance that this will never work.

I don't sure if I configure it right.

I had setted it as :

parallel1=enabled
parallel2=enabled
parallel3=enabled
dongle = true

But it still not works..... 😢

What exactly made you think any of those lines would do anything?

There have been many threads posted on these boards in the past with advice about parallel port passthrough.

I emphasize again that this will probably never work.

Depending on the nature of the dongle, you may be able to dump its contents and use DOSBox without having to plug in the dongle at all.
