Hello,
I am a little lost at this point. Not even sure if this can be done, so I hoped someone could steer me in the right direction.
What I have:
Win 7 x64
Dosbox 0.74
Win95 Image
a Sierra Win 95 game Image + cue
Daemon Tools
What I hope to do is install a Win95 version of the game {instead of dos}, so that I can run an optional executable that is Windows NT compatible only. The hitch is that the NT EXE must be run while the game is running as it modifies files in an active game.
So far, I have been able to run the game in DOS {in DoSBox} and run Win95 {img} in Dosbox. From what I can tell, the WIN95 instance creates a virtual HD the same size as the IMG {in this case 230 MB w/ 132 MB free}. But, this IMG is temporary, and limited to the IMG as far as drivers,etc. that were used at the time the IMAGE was created. {?} Can I alter the IMG from within it to update drivers? Or, will the IMG, upon shut down, revert to the original IMG?
From what I can tell this may be a fairly complex set-up for DOSBox.
The end result I am shooting for is:
A dosbox shortcut that loads a custom Conf.
That Conf loads WIN95 w/ drivers & a config that runs the game optimally.
Once Win95 has booted within DoxBox, I can install the game and configure it. Using a virtual CDrom if need be {I don't necessarily want/need a No-CD version}
Then I can execute the batch file in Win95, fire up the game, and run the NT EXE while the game is running....
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Zodoz
