I have Mac OS X 10.4.11 Intel Based Mac computer.

I've downloaded DOS version of Sid Meier's Colonization.
I've installed DOS Box 0.74 for MAc. (When I try to run Dosbox icon on App folder anything happens).
I've installed Dapplegrey 3.4 for MAC. It runs but anything happens when I try to run INSTALL.EXE, MPSCOPY.EXE (from colonize folder).
I've copied into Library/Frameworks the folder: SDL.framework

I can't play this excellent game.
Am I wrong??

Try http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox/files/ … al.dmg/download perhpas that was built with a 10.4 intel target... If that doesn't work, I'll see if I canbuild one for you to test. Problem so far is that I have no 10.4 intel machine to test against...

Now Dosbox works !!!
I've tried to launch Colonize through the 3 .exe's icons I have:
colonize.exe, mpscopy.exe & pkunzjr.exe

The 3 DosBox answers are the 3 next .jpeg captures

I don't know what to do
Note: 3 years ago, with WinXP, only MPScopy.exe worked with moslow

I think ALL the messages are self explanatory:
-pkunzjr.exe is a zip decompressor.
-mpscopy is a utility MicroProse used to copy files (probably for the installers).
and
-colonize is A WINDOWS PROGRAM (as the message clearly states)...so run it under Windows, not Dos.
There's a thread here about installing Windows 3.1 under DosBox, if you happen to have a copy lying around.

The idea was to install colonize in Mac OS X 10.4 and run it by DOSbox according the info shown:

Sid Meier's Colonization (1994-1995)

Good Old Games offers a downloadable version of Sid Meier's Colonization for $2.99. Works on Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit). DRM free. » gog.com.
If you're looking for a physichal copy of the game, see below.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON THIRD PARTY VERSIONS:
The DOS version works on newer platforms with DOSBox (check out the downloads section). If you're on a Mac or using Linux, the best thing might be to get the DOS version and use DOSBox. Read seller information carefully, because some are CD-ROMs and some are 3.5" floppy disks. Also note that "Colonization for Windows" is a 16bit application and will not run on a 64bit version of XP/Vista/Seven, unless you set up a 32bit OS on a virtual machine.

I don't know the reason for all that copy & paste crossposting and supplying information I already know, I thought YOU were asking for help, not me.
In any case, as your own post says...the DOS version works under DosBox, the one you have is a Windows version.
So...spend 2.99 and buy the GOG version, it's *probably* a DOS version, ask in their forums.

I did Ctrl C / Ctrl V cause I made a mistake to follow a message and I create a new threat.
I beg you pardon If I confused you. That was no my intention.
I only attempt to make this excellent game run.

I don't like to use media without pay, but with a game next to 20 years old could be fair not to pay for it.

Thanks for your advice.

Dos games tend to be 20years old. If it's not made freeware, using copies for download is still stealing. We do not support pieated versions here.
