Hi guys,

what is the best way to find what is faulty in a floppy chain ?
I got a shuttle HOT433 on which I fail to launch dos setup.
It begins, and ends in an error reading the file, with the Abandon/Retry/Fail usual stuff.

I (We actually) tried 2 floppy drives, several disks, 2 floppy cables, checked and rechecked connectors.
The only common part is the motherboard in all our tests.

Is there a way to be definitely sure the MB is faulty ?

Err, I don't remember exactly.
Not an I/O error, more like a read error, but I don't remember the exact sentence.

Have you tried to disable onboard and use an isa multi io card instead with fdd controller?
Or maybe an irq conflict with some device.
I assume the light of the fdd is out when posting the mobo, maybe the cable is reversed?

Well the light goes on at post, then the boot disk is recognised. I can actually boot on very simple boot disks.
But none of my DOS installation disks can go to the end...
