I got this Chaintech VNF3-250 mobo from a friend, and it works completly fine. Except the fact that if I change anything in the bios, the system won't work anymore and I'll have to clear the CMOS to fix it.

As for fixing it, I've tried flashing it with every version of the bios I could find, and they all gave the same problem. I've also tried replacing the CMOS battery.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Are you sure you have the 'clear CMOS' jumpers set correctly?

Is the motherboard shorting with the case? Try it out of the case.

Also, I had once a bizarre problem where a motherboard would do exactly that due to a defective front panel. Reversing reset and power buttons solved it.
