As i saw on ebay, they go from 30$ to 150$. Usually for around 50$ ~ 60$.
Thats how i based the price for the one i am selling on Ami Bay. Im asking 40 euro for it, will i sell it, i have no idea.

eBay is madness, I go regularly to check for older hardware and there are absurd listings everywhere. Is that AmiBay forum worth it?

Sounds like I should consider selling off some of my old hardware. I'll probably never use most of it, since I'm happy enough with DOSBox and such to not feel a need to assemble retro rigs..

Sure, they're often listed on eBay for $30-150. But that doesn't mean they actually sell for that much... and searching completed listings can be a bit deceptive since non-auction (i.e., BIN only) listings show as 'sold' when the listing is ended, regardless of whether the item actually sold or not.

In auction listings they still go for well under $30, and sometimes even go unsold.

I bought an ET4000 off ebay a couple of months ago for € 2.50 + shipping. It should be easily possible to get one for under € 10.
The fastest cards are those with a ET4000/W32 chip, but the difference to the plain AX version will probably only be noticeable in Windows.

Yes patience is the key with those. There's always some hanging around on eBay for those outrageous BIN prices, but semi-regularly genuine sellers list them for a few bucks and you have a good chance at winning. It's also worth just searching for "ISA VGA", etc and then just look for the distinctive bird logo on the chip.

Mine all came from junked machines I've found in my travels; they're quite common.

For a 386 or early 486 the ET4000 is excellent. It works, is fast and very nice signal output quality (which is something that is important to me). The output quality is much better than on many later cards.

There are ISA cards based on ET4000W32i as well. The "i" stands for memory interleave. At least on VL bus they should be quite a bit faster than the W32 versions. However, ISA is probably bottlenecked.

I didn't know this was a popular card. I swear I saw one at a local place for just a few dollars. I'll try to run and check, tomorrow and letcha know.
