How to fix lag in Simcity classic?

Hey I'm brand new to DOSBox. Using a guide I was able to get the original Simcity to run on my Windows Vista computer using the program. I was really excited to get it working but now my only problem is that the mouse lags during the game. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to fix this? I tried searching for answers but so far things I've tried like increasing the ram and turning off some settings haven't worked.

Do you mean increasing RAM, or increasing cycles?

It is quite possible the game is acting the same way it did on the original hardware.

I mean increasing RAM. I haven't really gone into increasing cycles. From what I understand I don't think it had this lag on the original hardware. The title screen works perfect but once you start the game it has the lag.

That is far more likely to alter the responsiveness of the game than making changes to the RAM.
