Hey folks!

I guess some folks were having this issue already, but I just can't find what's the problem for me.

When I play back MIDI files in DOSBox, I see there is activity on the SC-55 display panel, so data is definitely received (and probably also sent), but I just cannot hear anything.

The system:
- Win7 64-bit SP1
- Soundblaster X-Fi Ti
- Roland SC-55

The connections:
- USB to MIDI cable: Yamaha UX-16 (driver: v3.1.2)
- Audio output: RCA to minijack (between Roland Audio Out and SB X-Fi Line In, connected to jack #7 as shown on this schematic)

As far as I can see, I have made no mistake, MIDI IN part of the cable goes into MIDI OUT of the SC-55 and vice versa, no mute option activated, DOSBox set to the right device via "midiconfig".

Am I still missing anything important here maybe?

Go to your Control Panel, then Sound (if you have the icons or classic view in the control panel). On the Recording tab go to the Line In of your X-Fi, double click and check listen to this device.
That should do it 😀.

OMG, F2bnp's hit the nail right away, incredible!

That was really easy. I had assumed the Line In is working by default, didn't know you have to turn it on first.

Thanks a lot for this really fast and efficient support, pal! ^^
