Running Windows 8 64bit.

I recently picked up an ASUS Z87-deluxe MB and a 4770k upgrading from my current i7 920. Anyways for some reason even though my Midisport 2X2 anniversary edition show up as functioning in the device manager the mixer /listmidi command never finds anything but The GS wavetable synthesis at ID 0.

I have tried the device in both usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports, both detect the device and install the driver but no matter what port I place the device on the Dosbox Mixer doesn't see it.

There are a lot of USB ports on this motherboard and I've tried a great deal but not all. If the device driver is installed and functioning properly what could be preventing me from seeing it in the Dosbox mixer?

Also this exact same install was working perfectly before I bought the new motherboard. I have reinstalled also but to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions that I might test out?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The "exact same install" (which in the end isn't: you changed the motherboard and CPU) included Windows 8 too? Or was it Windows 7?
The Midisport is a MIDI interface only, is it already connected to some Synth for audio output?

Well I was being lazy and just moved my old Win 8 install to the new hardware. After a few drivers everything is working, I know this could be the source of my problem but redoing the system is a last resort since I got lucky and the move seems to have worked, at least for everything else.

It is connected to a couple synths SC-55MKII and MT32.

I know you probably won't want to help since it wasn't a clean reinstall of the OS , I was just fishing for suggestions.

Suggested specs for a full speed DOSbox machine?
oberclocked ones too 😉

Rockin' that totally worked, I uninstalled all the drivers of the working device then removed all of the dead entries for the old ones. Then I rebooted, reinstalled the drivers and bam I can see the device in the mixer in Dosbox again! Thanks so much! That saved me a bunch of time.

I'll look into those benchmarks.
