I'm trying to install windows 98 SE repoc on a K7 PRO motherboard with an AMD 1ghz processor. (pentium 3)

I am getting the error message directly after scandisk finishes.

FAULT OUTSIDE OF MS-DOS EXTENDER.

I had a brief look on google but alot of it relates to virutal box/pc installation of windows 98.

Ill continue to browse google now but any input from you guys would be appreciated.

Solved: I was using old IDE cable. You know the cables with all the holes and without that middle pin filled.

I dont really know the differences in IDE cables it seems.
