I am new to this forum, so greetings everyone.
To make it short: I want to record footage of let's say "Ultima 8" and I have 2 options I believe to do that.
There is Fraps and the build-in capture function of DosBox.
With Dosbox recording I only get a low res, lower color, lower contrast and slightly smudged footage. Also the scalers I used in my gameplay like "Supersai" are resetted and not recorded. At least I am quite sure of that.
With Fraps I have enabled opengl in Dosbox and cannot record anything ingame when I have selected "2x Sai" or "SuperSai" for scaling method.
But if I select "highqual2x" it works (the only option for scalers that does).

So my questions are:
1. Where can I configure my recording quality of my footagein Dosbox? And if that is not possible how do I get high quality footage dosbox gameplay? 😢
2. With fraps, how do I get "Supersai" to work? I thought fraps only demanded opengl mode.
3. I searched for like an hour for good recording tutorials or hints on how to do that in a pro way...but found dozens of sites that just explain how to do it, but not
how to do it to look great. I want my footage to look "exactly" how they were when I played. 😈

I will build a shrine for anyone who can help me solve this little problem...

1.-You can't, the quality is the same as the original frame, so high quality is highly subjective.
2.-No clue, I don't use Fraps
3.-Scalers won't be recorded.

Nope, the recording is completely lossless. The problem may be with your video player (I had a similar issue on one machine when using certain output modules in VLC).
