Here's my dilemma! I'm trying to run tombraider using dosbox, and this is what I enter....
mount c c:\tombraid
c:
dir
tombraid exe
what follows is an error:(please insert the tombraider cd)

I have tried typing mount e:\-t cdrom, only to see another message: (usage mount drive-letter local-directory. So a mount c c:\ windows mounts windows directory as the c: drive in dos box) Now what???? PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a 2000xp with 512 ram and
a radeon 9000 video and a soundblaster live
card,all running on windows xp.

Please re-read the included documentation carefully.
mount <drive letter as it appears in dosbox> <source drive/directory> -t <type>

ie mount C H:\root_directory\is\over_here\
creates drive C with contents of H:\root_directory\is\over_here\
mount D E:\ -t cdrom -ioctl
creates a virtual cdrom drive using the contents of E:\

Complicated stuff, if you don't know what you're doing!! Dos sort of reminds me of a child, you have to specify what you want it to do. I can't believe it was this much trouble just to play a game back then. 😳 Thank god for windows!! 😁( I found the readme to be not very helpful!) 😕 This is the kind of system that you need hands on experience, you know what they say.... practice makes perfect!

Thanks again.

I don't know - but then again, I am an old, spoiled fart. As least you have a pretty good chance of figuring out what is going inside the system. With newer systems, only a very, very few people know what is going on under the hood, so whenever there is a problem, the knee-jerk reaction is to hit Ctrl-Alt-Del. And if that does'nt solve the problem - reformat and reinstall.
