Is there someone that having exprience with asus eee pc 901 SSD upgrades?
I had bought this netbook book, because i needed a small / tiny computer for using to with my eprom reader / writer. And also want to do other thing with it, like internet, music (mp3) and or streaming from internet, and using it for looking in to the mail box.. and maybe some litte easy games..
I know that this notebook came with two ssds 4GB + 8GB (its the windows xp version) And i like to have both replaced..
I already be busy on this because the netbook is already stripped and bought a 128GB kingspec ssd for it.. And i dont really know it this new ssd is going work (already upgraded to the newest bios release)
But i got some problems with the standoffs from the first ssd too, because the holes on the older PATA ssd where a little but wider. So i couldnt mounting the new ssd to it.. I had to desolder the standoffs from the board.. But that didnt worked right out, finding that the pcb was damaged.. It wasnt that a huge problem because its just the places where the standoff where mounted on the board.. so its wasnt a sensitive place to damage the whole board.
Now i want to do is test the first ssd out if it should be detected and will working, so i can final glue the standoffs with a epoxy glue for plastic..
But now the main target:
I red mostly people only are upgrading the second 70mm ssd.. I also find on ebay, that when you replace the second 70mm ssd for a CF card adapter that Always is needed to remove the first completely because getting problems that the bios will see two primairy ssd instead of the first ssd as master and the second as slave. Now i like to know if people have encounter the same problems with that..
And are there people that have upgrade the primairy ssd too?
~ At least it can do black and white~
