I've got a PC that I have dedicated to running a Voodoo 5 5500 for legacy gaming. Here are its specs:

Abit KT7A
Athlon 1400
768MB PC133 RAM
Voodoo 5500 AGP
AWE64 Gold
Running Win98SE

It still has one free PCI slot, so I recently got the crazy idea of plugging in a Vooodoo 1 card to handle the few games that won't run with the V5. Will it work? I've read somewhere that original Voodoo cards don't like to run on a FSB faster than 66mhz. I have a spare Orchid Righteous 3D with its mechanical relay, so if this works I should be able to audibly confirm its operation. However, I don't want to just plug it in and risk frying my card. That's why I'm asking about the feasibility of this idea first.

If the V1 won't work, I suppose I could always plug in a V2. I was just thinking that it would be quite cool to have both a V5 and a V1 in the same rig.

Thanks for your thoughts!

NOTE: A similar topic has been discussed previously regarding Voodoo 3 and Voodoo 2 cards in the same PC.

I ran a v1 in my athlon xp box briefly:
asus a7m266
voodoo 5
mx300

A v1 or v2 will run ok, I didn't do it for long though [as the v1 and v2 seemed more suited to other boxes]. Also seems a shame to potentially reduce v5 output quality by passing through a v1.

You could use a monitor with 2 inputs.
v1 and v2 are PCI so they run even in the most current PCs like my i7 3930K. Still V2 SLI is too slow to run UT2004 f.e.
